How we handle it
Wheel seal leaks are the most common axle call we get. The fix is straightforward when you catch it early — pull the hub, replace the seal, repack the bearings, button it back up. If the seal has been leaking for thousands of miles the bearings are usually compromised too and that's a bigger ticket. We diagnose first: pop the hub cap, look at the oil level and color, check for end-play in the bearings, look at the seal. If we can do the repair in your yard, we will. If the truck has been losing oil for a long time and the differential gears are scored, we'll tell you straight what the options are.
Parts & warranty
Wheel seals from National, Stemco, or SKF — the standards. Bearings from Timken or SKF. Axle shafts OEM when the engine maker spec demands it; quality aftermarket otherwise. 1-year parts-and-labor warranty on the work.
